EVENT DETAILS

Event Price: Suggested minimum donation of $5 - $10

“Fight for 52¢” is a solo performance about the life of Vincent Raymond Dunne, an American labor leader and revolutionary.

Vincent Raymond Dunne’s whole life and character had prepared him for the Minneapolis truck drivers strikes of 1934. The strike victories would lead to the unionization of over 250,000 workers across the Midwest, making them the most influential strikes in American labor history. This is his story of the strikes and their lessons for today. Based on conversations that performer Howard Petrick had with Mr. Dunne.

Howard Petrick’s first solo performance was Breaking Rank! about his experiences organizing against the Vietnam War while in the US Army in1966-68.  It played at The Marsh Berkeley in 2011. Never Own Anything You Have to Paint or Feed, his second show, was his story of working on the railroad and meeting hobos and taking to the rails himself. He has performed at over thirty-five fringe festivals winning “Best of Fringe” awards for both shows.

Performance starts at 7:30p and the doors open at 7p at the Dragon Theatre in downtown Redwood City. Cash only at the door. Suggested minimum donation of $5 - $10. Concessions will be available for purchase to enjoy during the show.
