Journey back in time 4.6 billion years to learn about the beginnings of the universe, why life on Earth looks like it does today, and get a little help reading the fossil record. Using meteorites and fossils from the Academy’s Geology collections, Curatorial Assistant Maricela Abarca will help you brush up on your deep, deep history; illustrator Franz Anthony shows off his vibrant paleoart depictions of extinct marine invertebrates; and UC Museum of Paleontology’s Nick Spano talks ice age mammals and the emerging field of conservation paleobiology.
