As the San Francisco Bay Area continues to move forward in the reopening process, the safety and security of our residents and visitors remain our top priority. As a destination, we understand the importance of following sanitation and safety protocols, and we all have been working extremely hard in order to reach these goals. About

Click or treat! On October 30, join us online for a skele-ton of fun at the Academy’s first-ever SuperNatural Halloween @ Home virtual event.

From the comfort and safety of your own home, enjoy an entertaining evening of spirited science, kooky costumes, and tasty treats—livestreamed directly to you and your family!

Here’s a preview of the fanciful festivities we have planned:

- Costume competition

- Behind-the-scenes peeks at animal care and feeding

- “Deep into the Vault” collections tour with Academy scientists

- Creepy skulls and flesh-eating beetles (oh my!)

- Magic and juggling shows

- Live music

- Halloween crafts, face-painting, chocolate-making demos, and more!

This year, our Vampire and Werewolf guests will also receive something IRL to accompany the online festivities: A Halloween @ Home scare package tailor-made for you and your little goblins! Your scare package will include a trick-or-treat bag overflowing with goodies, Academy-themed face masks, crafting supplies for you to follow along with the live program, educational activities, an animal face-painting kit, and much more! Plus, Werewolf guests will also receive an unforgettable Halloween-themed dinner for the entire family.

Now more than ever, the Academy needs your support. Whether you plan to make an outright donation or register for our first-ever SuperNatural Halloween @ Home virtual event, proceeds raised to the general operating fund will support care programs for our nearly 40,000 live animals during our temporary closure. Although our doors are currently closed to the public, biologists and staff are hard at work behind the scenes feeding and caring for our beloved animal residents. By attending this virtual event, you’re making a real impact on our work. Thank you!
