Combine the Ocean, Romance and Fine Dining with a one of a kind experience at Moonraker!
This historic space holds one of the most breathtaking views in the Bay Area, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beach and the surf. Weeks of renovation have seen more than five tons of wooden beams removed and recycled for local building projects and a complete redesign of the space.
Moonraker offers live piano music every Friday and Saturday and a delicious brunch menu every Sunday. The restaurant also features multiple banquet spaces that are perfect for corporate functions or dinners, weddings, rehearsal dinners or parties.
About the Restaurant
The Design
Designer Michael Brennan, nationally recognized for his restaurant concepts in the Bay Area, was inspired by the 1979 James Bond film of the same name, as well as the close proximity to the ocean, creating a space that draws on retro accents but remains classic, modern and comfortable. Upon entering Moonraker, a wall of woven rope set upon black steel pays homage to the nearby water, as well as texturized treatments throughout the restaurant, giving a weathered, ocean-side feel.
A row of oversized booths upholstered in deep tobacco brown leather face the windows and offer guests the opportunity to view dolphins at play and the occasional whale tail. Accents of black metal wrap around the original fireplace and contrast against the birch grid along the ceiling while more dark metal meets natural bronze in the 60s-inspired light fixtures hanging from the ceiling and along the walls. Brennan chose to open the space by removing a raised platform in the middle of the restaurant, thereby creating room for an open bar area with seating for 40.
The Team
Under the direction of Executive Chef and owner Jason Yeafoli, the restaurant features classic seafood cuisine with a modern twist with a selection of local California wines, beers and Pacifica-inspired cocktails. Re-opened in winter 2011, Moonraker offers dinner seven days a week with happy hour starting at 4:30 each afternoon. In addition to a private dining room that seats up to 20 diners, the restaurant has access to three large event spaces within the hotel that can hold parties of up to 65, 120 and 160 guests.
The Location
Moonraker is located within the Lighthouse Hotel, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Pacifica, CA.
