Hillsborough

The San Francisco Peninsula

Renowned for its wealth, Hillsborough prides itself on lovely winding roads (lined with Pines, Redwoods and Eucalyptus), lush landscaping and gorgeous multi-million-dollar mansions.

In the 1800’s, Hillsborough was a country retreat for San Francisco’s millionaires. After the 1906 earthquake, many of the city’s wealthy descendants of mining and railroad tycoons built great mansions and estates in the semi-isolated little town, which was incorporated in 1910.

Today’s residents include doctors, lawyers and Silicon Valley executives. The biggest community event of the year is the Concourse d’Elegance, an exhibit of vintage antique automobiles. Click here to learn more about Hillsborough.
