The city is home to the San Carlos Airport, as well as the Hiller Aviation Museum, a kid-friendly museum specializing in helicopter and aviation history.

The City of San Carlos is also home to numerous wineries such as Cuvee Wine Cellars, Domenico Winery, Flying Suitcase Wines, Russian Ridge Winery, among others. A majority of the wineries are within walking distance of Caltrain and each other and can all be visited in one day.
